Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say, rejoice:
Let your gentleness be known to all men. The
Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing but with
thanksgiving, let your requests be made known
to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses
all understanding, guard your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.
Finally brethren, whatever things are true,
whatever things are lovely, whatever things
are of good report, if there be any virtue and
if there is anything praiseworthy-think on
these things. Philippians 4: 4-8, see also,
Deuteronomy 16: 20, Ephesians 4:25...
I believe Scripture quoted above is
plain and understandable, but there
are elements we might emphasize...
1. To rejoice is to verbally let the world
and the Lord hear just how much He
means to you and how He has changed
your life for the better.
2. Intentionally turn from worrying to trus-
ting in the True and Living God and His
Word as well as the Living Word, God the
Son, Jesus Christ. (the Messiah)
"And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld His glory; the glory as of the only begot-
ten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:14
"My little children, these things I write unto you, that ye
sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with
the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous. And He is the
propitiation (covering) for our sins; and not for our's
only, but also for the sins of the whole world."
1 John 2: 1-2, and "Love not the world, neither the
things that are in the world. If any man love the world,
the love of the Father is not in him." Vs. 15.
(To love the world is to care more for status, riches, or
anything related to the here and now than we do for the
eternal riches in Christ Jesus..) Finally, let us learn to
discipline our minds that our thoughts might be in sub-
mission to His will as we think on truth, the noble, the
worthy, on purity and the beautiful that is of a good
report and worthy of praise.
May the Lord God be in our hearts as we endeavor to
live out the mandate that we be "...conformed to the
image of His Son...." Romans 8: 29b
Remember the Word of the Lord to Zerubbabel in
Zechariah 4:6, "So he answered and said to me: Not
by might nor by power, but by my Spirit.' Says the
Lord of Host. I am convinced, from the Word of God;
Nothing of eternal consequence gets done outside
of the working of the Holy Spirit in the life of believers.
