JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, Romans 8: 31-39

With all of the teaching and preaching available
to  us today,  there is a "doctrine" that seems to be
source to  confusion in the life of believers.  That is
the belief that persons may be born again, baptized
of the Holy Spirit, then somehow, make Jesus Lord
of  life.  It  has been  discounted  from Scripture as
as long  as I remember, but the belief persists. This
erroneous teaching has caused  persons who  have
been  born  again  to think  they  must  make  Jesus
Lord of  their lives  even after being indwelt by his
Spirit.

The following  seems to be the truth of the matter
along  with  the clear passage,  "...as many as are
led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
(Romans 8:14)
Does not a  person who is "Led  by the Spirit of
God," and indwelt by his Spirit have him  Lord of
his life?  He does not have to make Jesus Lord of
His Life.  We find Solomon's Proverbs, Chapter 3,
the keys to understanding the way the Lord works
in  our lives to get  us to do His will.  He does not
have to make Jesus Lord of His Life.

vs. 1, A way to enjoy long life with peace.
vs.2, How to find favor with God and man.
vs.5. How to get direction from the Lord.
vs. 7-8, How to have good health and strength.

Reducing  this counsel to it's lowest common
denominator,  we  find  we  do  not  make God
Lord of our lives.  We  just  acknowledge Him
to be so. Things then  fall into place.  Counsel
goes  this way;  keep the law, be  merciful and
truthful. Trust and acknowledge the Lord God
and depart  from evil.  This same passage goes
on to  tell how  to  be  prosperous, by  sharing
ones possessions; how to deal with chastening
from the  Lord,  being  reminded  that parents
discipline  their  children  because  they  love
them. Since our Father who is in heaven loves
us, he disciplines as  needed to  conform us to
"the image of His dear Son." Romans 8: 29, kjv

" Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and
lean not unto thine own understanding. In
all  thy  ways  acknowledge  Him  and  He
shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine
own eyes; fear the Lord, and  depart from
evil.  It  shall  be health  to  thy navel and
marrow to  thy bones.  Honour  the  Lord
with thy substance; and with the firstfruits
of all  thy increase.  So shall thy barns be
filled  with  plenty, and  thy presses  shall
       burst our with new wine."
                                            Proverbs 3:5-10, kjv

     In the New Testament, 1 John 1: 5-6, 2: 3-6 we
see evidence suggesting if one is not being perfec-
ted by the Holy Spirit, he has no assurance he is in
the faith and may well, still be in the flesh. (On his
own, lost.)

"This  then is the message which we have of him,
and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him
is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellow-
ship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do
not the truth.  But if we walk in the light,  as  He is
in the light, we  have  fellowship  with one another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all
sin."    1 John 1: 5-7 kjv

How do we acknowledge "Jesus Christ is Lord?"
Beginning in the epistle to the Romans, chapter 10:
9 &13,  " That if  thou shalt confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God
hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For  whosoever  calls  upon  the name of  the Lord
shall be saved.
With the  mouth we acknowledge  Jesus is Lord,  and
begin to live life under his control, by finding his will,
generally,  and living life  as it applies to us.  Finally,
through doing his known  will,  He reveals  details  of
his specific will for our situation.  As we put them into
practice, we are able to be profitable and  bring plea-
sure to him.  This  is the  way to  find  peace,  purpose
and  prosperity in life  on earth,  and  the  promise of
eternal  life  with  him in  the  Kingdom of  God.  Our
responsibility is  to confess,  or acknowledge Jesus as
Lord, in public, to  the glory of  God the Father in the
power of God the Spirit. This brings the three persons
of the Godhead into focus as one and clears the air as
to who is in charge of my life.

"Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every Spirit that
confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of
God; and  every spirit  that confesseth not that Jesus
Christ  is come in the flesh is not of God:  and this is
the spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it
should come into  the world; and even now,  already,
is in the  world.  Ye are  of God,  little  children and
have  overcome them;  because greater is He that is
in you than he that is in the world."
                Scripture from KJV... 1John 4: 2-4

The Lord God is not  just Lord of  my life;  He is
Lord of all, whether you or I acknowledge it or not.
It is impossible for one to confess before men,  that
Jesus Christ is  come in the flesh,  outside the work
of  the Holy Spirit  inside.  As we  read  Romans 8:
31-39,  would you have it any other way?  Jesus as
Lord of life makes the difference in this world and
the  next.  Acknowledging  Him during this lifetime
opens one to the blessing of God; a  favored  child
Refusing to bow the knee in  submission, or failing
to acknowledge His Lord, keeps one under the con-
demnation  of the Law, reserved for judgment in a
day when  "every knee shall bow and every tongue
shall  confess  Jesus Christ is  Lord..."  The option
everyone  has while on earth is whether to bow the
knee in  submission, voluntarily, or  forced to bow
the knee in judgment.  Those who bow, voluntarily,
will be saved; those who are forced to bow will be
separated from the Lord God for eternity.
"The Lord knoweth how to deliver the Godly
out of temptation and to reserve the unjust
unto the day of judgment to be punished."
2 Peter 2: 9 kjv
