FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER..........PSALM 136

"Oh, give thanks to the Lords,
                for He is good!
              For His mercy endures forever.
Oh give thanks to the God of gods!
             For His mercy  endures  forever.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords!
             For His mercy  endures  forever.
                     nkjv            Psalm 136: 1-3

In the King James Version, the last line in each
verse (stanza), reads "and His mercy endureth..."

In this Psalm, "for His mercy endures forever,"
occurs  to close  each verse, stanza.  An  outline
might look like this:
The Lord God is Sovereign over all who would
be  gods...vs. 1-3  The Lord God created it all and He alone is God.

The Lord God  has  fought on the side of  His people  Israel, delivers them  from their enemies,
protects them in the land he has given them for a
homeland, and will provide for them there. vs.10-24.  I am pleased and grateful for the privilege of being a citizen of the only nation in history to side
with Israel in every conflict. We are on the side of the Lord God, Jehovah!!!

The Lord God, Jehovah, provides for all flesh, give Him thanks.  For His mercy endures forever,
vs. 25-26...
Without respect to ethnicity, nationality or any other barrier  we might choose to insert, that his mercy, grace and care are available  to all..  His mercy, however;  is contingent on the recipient's response  to His  Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice for their/our sin.

"For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.
Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."
                                                   Romans 3: 23-24

BUILT ON FAITH WE WILL STAND...OTHERWISE?

Below you will find a link to National Center of Constitutional
Studies.  Do not pass this one up.   donporter,sr

Our nation, the "U.S. of A" was founded on principles from the
Word of God and recognized all "Bible based" religion/church
denominations.  It did not have time for the religions of "false,"
so called gods.  We  have now  moved 180 degrees from that in
public  policy and  are now  giving "false  religion"  preference
and are trying to  stifle the exercise of our rights to  the "true."
Then we  pray  for our Lord,  the Lord God of  Abraham,  Isaac
Isaac and  Jacob  to  bless  America?  I certainly  pray for  God
to bless  America,  but  will He ?  We must pray for the  Lord to
open the  eyes of our populace, (of,  for, and by the people) and
our elected representatives, so we may return to a free culture,
who  worships the True and Living God  the Lord Jesus Christ,
who is the very person of JEHOVAH, and will judge all nations,
peoples and motives... We must still, however; recognize rights
of every citizen to choose to serve whomever he/she pleases.  A
caveat might be to be sure to exercise our rights of free speech,
and our responsibility to communicate to them our faith in the
Lord God who created it all and set up governments at his own
pleasure...

Let us all recall, "this is not a democracy,  but a democratic republic."  We elect our  leaders in a  free, and  open election.
We  must  keep them aware that  the  "People,"  under God
Almighty are still the power,  and our elected representatives
 serve at our "pleasure."

"Now faith is the substance of things  hoped for, the evidence
of things not seen.  For by it, the elders obtained a good testi-
mony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by
the Word of God, so that the things which are seen were not
made of things which are visible.."

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who
comes to  God  must  believe  that  He  is  and  that  He  is a  rewarder of those who diligently seek Him".  (See Hebrews 11)     "...for whatever is not of faith is sin." Romans 14: 23b

LAMENTATION OVER JERUSALEM

"The Lord has purposed to destroy the wall of the
daughter of Zion.  He has  stretched out a line.  He
has not withdrawn His hand from destroying. There-
fore He  has caused the rampart and wall to lament.
They languish together.

Her gates have sunk into the ground.  He has des-
troyed and broken her  bars.  Her king and her prin-
ces are among the nations.  The law is no more, and
her prophets find no vision from the Lord."

(The Scripture quoted in this post is from the NKJV)

This passage of Scripture is from the "Lamenta-
tions of Jeremiah," chapter 2, vs. 8 and 9. To get a
more complete picture of the destruction of Israel's
prize city, Jerusalem, and  the purpose of  the Lord
in that destruction, read the whole book of Lamen-
tations.  One might ask, "How is the destruction of
Jerusalem relevant to our time and culture?"

The United States of America seems the most
blessed of all nations. We will never replace
Israel,  however;  as God's chosen people.
Let us now pledge to pray for the nation and
people of Israel as they go through the fire.

In spite of the Lord's blessing upon the USA,
we seem oblivious to His hand upon us and
live as though we were responsible for our own
success, independent of our Lord.  Israel suf-
fered the penalty for that kind of thinking, and
have never recovered from the Lord's dealing
with  them because of it.  Scripture  offers the
"secrets" pertaining to having a righteous and
beneficial relationship with the Lord God.
Who among us is taking advantage of the Lord's
outstretched hand and offer of redemption as is
   stated in His Word?

From the Gospel recorded by the apostle Luke we
see;  "And behold,  a certain lawyer stood up and
tested Him,  saying, 'Teacher,  what  shall  I do to
inherit eternal life?'  And  He said to him, 'What is
written in the law?  What is your reading of it?'
So, he answered and said, 'You shall love the Lord
your God with all you heart, with all your soul, with
all your strength, and with all your mind, and your
 neighbor as yourself.(See Deuteronomy 6:5)"
 "And He said to him.  'You have answered rightly;
Do this and you will live."   (Luke 10:25-28)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not
unto your own understanding.  In all your ways
acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Two verses in this chapter 3 of Proverbs I had not noticed; "Do not envy the oppressor, and choose
none of his ways.  For the perverse person is an
abomination to the Lord, But the secret counsel
is with the upright."   Proverbs 3: 31-32

As we continue in this book, we find the answer to
a question posed above.  What is the "secret" to one
having a righteous and beneficial relationship with
the Lord God?  This is answered to a large extent in
vs. 9-12 of Proverbs 3.  For good health and strong
bones, do not seek your own wisdom, but seek  wis-
dom from God, and fear the Lord. Honour the Lord
with your  possessions and  return to  him a part of
that  with  which  He has  blessed.  Your storehouse
will be  filled and  your vats  will overflow.  Accept
the discipline of the Lord and gladly endure correc-
tion.  You will be blessed of the Lord God.

"Honour the Lord with your possessions, and with
the first fruits of all your increase; So your barns
will be filled with plenty, and your vats will over-
flow with new wine.  My son, do not despise the
  chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction;
For whom the Lord loves, He corrects.  Just as a
father, the son in whom he delights." Prov. 3:9-12
