There is a Gospel song named, "In the Presence of Jehovah."
This is a quiet, peaceful and reverent song of worship. A song
that speaks to my heart, as it is sung, and is very meaningful as
you read the Scriptures that talk about the reverence, awe and
joy as one anticipates the soon coming of our Lord, and the
catching away of His Church. This post is not about a play on
words. We will discuss "His presence," "the present," and "to
present." This verb speaks about giving ourselves to Him as a
living "Sacrifice."
Acts 3: 13-16, "The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of
Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son, Jesus;
whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of
Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. But ye denied
the Holy one and the Just, and desired a murderer to be
granted unto you; and killed the Prince of Glory, whom God
hath raised from the dead; whereof ye are witnesses."
"For Christ is not entered into the holy places not made
with hands, which are the figures of the true, but into heaven
itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us."
Hebrews 9: 24
11 Thessalonians 1: 24... "Grace to you, and peace from
God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We are bound
to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet,
because your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of
everyone of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that
we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your
patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations
that ye endure."
I am convinced, if we would live in the presence of our
Lord, we must identify with his suffering, briefly mentioned
in the passage of Scripture from Acts Chapter three.
In II Thess. 1, the Apostle, commented on their endurance
of the suffering brought on them for following our Lord.
"Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of
God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God,
for which ye also suffer: Seeing it is a righteous thing with
God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;"
11 Thess. 1:5-6
It is also noteworthy, that our God does not let this slip.
He will bring tribulation upon those who trouble believers.
There is then, the culmination of all things.
"And to you who are troubled, rest with us, when the
Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his
mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on
them that know not God and that obey not the gospel
of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who shall be punished with
everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord,
and from the glory of his power." 1I Thess. 1: 7-10
"I BESEECH you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies
of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service. And be not conformed to this world: but be
ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye
may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God." Romans 12: 1-2; AMEN!!!

"In the presence, of Jehovah; God Almighty, Prince of
Peace. Troubles vanish, hearts are mended, in the pre-
sence of the King." (Chorus)
