"Genesis is the book of beginnings. It records not only the
beginning of the heavens and the earth, and of plant, animal
and human life, but also of all human institutions and
relationships. Typically, it speaks of the new birth, the new
creation, where all was chaos and ruin."
"With Genesis begins also that progressive self-revelation
of God which culminates in Christ. The three primary names
of Deity, Elohim, Jehovah, Adonai, and the five most impor-
tant of the compound names occur in Genesis; and that in
an ordered progression which could not be changed without
confusion..."

book of Scripture, Genesis, from "The Scofield Study Bible,"

(This excerpt should encourage one to engage in the reading/
study of this Divinely inspired work penned by Moses some
4004 years before Christ and is thought to cover a period of
some 2,315 years. (Ussher)
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righ-
teousness. That the man of God may be perfect, throughly fur-
nished unto all good works." II Timothy 3: 15-16
(We would be quick to recognize, when Scripture is mentioned,
the reference is to "Old" Covenant, or Testament, as well as the
"New" Covenant, or Testament.)
